Remembering James Lutz
March 5th 2021
It is with the deepest sympathy that we, at the International Trade and Finance Association, express our condolences for the passing of Jim, our dear friend and colleague. We have shared wonderful times and memories with him and his wife Brenda as co-author over the years at our conference meetings. We recognize how important Jim has been to our association. He was an excellent friend to many of us, a devoted mentor who imprinted a significant impact in many of us, through his service and his research. He was always eager to offer advice to the new generations of scholars, being generous with his time and approach.
We are very grateful for his service at ITFA. He was always an active member who served three terms on the board of directors, he was on the editorial board of the Global Economy Journal and was an incredible contributor to our annual conferences. We will dearly miss him as friend, colleague and mentor. The relevant scientific work on global terrorism that Jim (and his wife) have been conducting over the years is testified by the many books and articles issued by prestigious international publishers and journals. Jim had a crash love for economic research which is further proved by the fact that when this unexpected tragedy occurred, he was revising a new book co-authored with his wife Brenda.
